School Support

Independent Educational Evaluations

At the request of a family or school district, we provide Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) for students who present with challenging diagnostic/behavioral profiles and are making minimal progress in school despite receiving educational modifications and extensive supports. An IEE can include interviews with caregivers and professionals in the student’s life, administration and scoring of psychological assessments, direct observations of the student in the classroom setting, and a comprehensive report that summarizes findings and provides detailed recommendations. We also offer support in the implementation of our recommendations.

Functional Behavior Assessments

At the request of a family or school district, we also provide Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) for students who exhibit very complex behaviors that are interfering with their educational progress. The purpose of the FBA is to collaborate with caregivers, teachers, and other school professionals in the development of a behavior intervention plan that will help the student become more successful. An FBA will include interviews with caregivers and professionals in the student’s life, direct observations of the student in the classroom setting, and a comprehensive report that summarizes findings and provides detailed recommendations. We also offer support in the implementation of our recommendations.

School Consultation

Some young students require support in the school setting but do not require a comprehensive functional behavior assessment. At the request of the family or school we will observe the child in the school setting and interview teachers and parents about their concerns. Based on this information we develop a support plan to improve behaviors critical to academic and social success. We are also available to provide ongoing teacher training in the implementation of our recommendations.
